Ladakh is bounded by two of the world’s mightiest mountain ranges, the Great Himalaya and the Karakoram. Truly a geological wonder where you can actually see the effects of the buckling and folding of the earth’s crust as the Indian sub-continent pushed with irresistible force against the immovable mass of Asia. The amazing landscape is nature’s own sculpture by wind and water over the millennia.
Exploring Ladakh’s wilderness will take you to see the Black-necked Crane, Golden Eagle, Lammergeyer, Merganser, Bar-headed Goose, Chukor Partridge, Marmot, Kiang, Blue Sheep, Collared Agama, Apollo butterflies and Himalayan wildflowers.
